British Columbia, Canada Hi-speed Ferries
The B.C. Ferry System built and launched three 300’+ high speed (39 knots cruise) catamaran ferries. B.C. Ferries requested MET’s Slik-Seal® be tested on critical hull areas. Slik-Seal® was applied to the splash zone, the drive tunnels, etc. The vessel was subsequently dry docked three times for hull maintenance. The Slik-Seal® coated areas at each inspection look pristine new, while the other specified coatings had to be re-applied or removed and alternative coatings tried.

Bering Sea Crabber
F/V Seawind, 185 foot crabber/processor working in northern Alaska Waters. Select sections of the vessel coated with Slik-Seal®. Vessel encountered storm with icing conditions building ice over the entire boat during the night. Morning inspection of the vessel revealed those areas coated with Slic- On® were ice free. Ice did not bond or adhere to the surface. The impact of green water over the bow would wash the ice away.

Private Yacht
38’ Oceans Yacht SS, 2 CATS developing 320hp. Cruising speed of 27 mph at 2300rpm. After applying Slik-Seal® to the hull, cruising speed jumped to 31mph at 2300rpm.

University of Buffalo
Panel coated with Slik-Seal® was sent to IUBC-Buffalo for inclusion in their testing of industry coatings for toxicity, ease of cleaning, and survivability against the Zebra Mussel. Panel passed toxic characteristic leachability procedure (TCLP) and Infrared Spectroscopy evaluation; submerged in Lake Erie Zebra infested freshwater test site for 14 months. Panel pulled, 100% coverage slimes/Bryozoa With Zebra Mussels attached. Fouling easily removed with simple mechanical action, such as “a light hand wipe.”

Rogue River Jet Boats
The owner of this Oregon business was looking for a maintenance free bottom paint that would hold up to continued abuse from river sandbars and rocks in the river and still perform. He found it with Slik-Seal.
